The American Film Institute has released it’s Top 10 Films and TV Shows of 2006, and Borat has made the list. Look how happy he is! There’s no “best” award in either category, just the ten best, so here they are in alphabetical order:

Movies:

• Borat
• The Devil Wears Prada
• Dreamgirls
• Half Nelson
• Happy Feet
• Inside Man
• Letters From Iwo Jima
• Little Miss Sunshine
• United 93

Not too much to complain about, though maybe Scorsese’s The Departed deserved a little affection.
One thing about the AFI, they love a good comedy. The 40 Year Old Virgin made the 2005 list, so it shouldn’t be so surprising to see Borat and The Devil Wears Prada up there this year.

But I’ll bet you a thousand Tenge, Borat doesn’t make the Kazakhstani Film Institute’s Top 10 for 2006.
