Where Did All The Movies Go?
Tomorrow, there’ll be only one new nationwide release in US cinemas. What’s the behemoth blockbuster that everyone’s running scared from? It’s The Hitcher, remake of the 1986 film of the same name. Sean Bean stars as a hitchhiker who accepts rides and then either frames you for murder or murders you. Basically a slasher film.
Obviously, other films aren’t running scared of a movie starring Sean Bean, it’s more that fate has conspired to make this a dead week. The post holiday season is always a bit light, but with Fast Track being, er, slow tracked the weekend belongs to Mr. Bean (not that one).
Only good news is that The Queen, fresh from its best screenplay and best actress Golden Globe win for Helen Mirren, is finally getting the nationwide release it deserves, as part of its campaign for Oscar glory.
