Larry David Saved my Life
Not only has Larry David changed the face of American comedy with his brilliant series Curb Your Enthusiasm (possibly my favourite comedy series ever), but his golden touch has extended to the sphere of wordly justice, according to an article in hollywood.com.
You see, Juan Catalan was just an average Hispanic guy, minding his own business, when suddenly he’s picked up for the murder of 16 year old Martha Puebla in San Fernando. Juan claimed he was at a baseball game with his daughter at the time, but had no ticket stubs and the televised footage proved unreliable. Charged with murder, Juan spent five months in prison. And then Larry David came along.
Well, not exactly. An episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm was being filmed during the game (possibly the Season 4 episode where Larry hires a prostitute to avail of the car-pool lane). Members of the show’s production team trawled through hours of rushes and eventually found Juan cearly present, eating a hot dog. Juan was awarded over 300,00 dollars in compensation from the L.A. City council.
Oh, Larry, is there anything you can do wrong?
The new series of Curb Your Enthusiasm is being filmed, and is expected to be aired later this year.
