“Last Days of Left Eye” Newest VH1 Rock Doc

May 19th, 2007 in Celebs, Documentary -

lisa-lopes.jpgThe excellent VH1 series that brings us Rock N Roll documentaries is back with an another enticing episode. It focuses on former TLC star Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes final days before her death.

I have a bit of a special interest in this one because I met Ms Lopes on a number of occasions when I worked for the Cleveland Browns. There was always an intrigue about her, as I was only a teenager at the time, and she was of course famous for many hit songs and infamous for burning Andre Rison’s house down in a domestic squabble. Lopes always treated me kindly and with respect but you could get a sense of the stormy relationship of her and Rison when they were together.

The 90 Minute documentary airs tonight at 9 AM. It showcases her meteoric rise with TLC and her tragic fall . I, for one, will be watching.

    I really enjoyed looking at the documentary. I watched it 3 times since it aired and it really made me think. Most people think that Left Eye was happy with her career with TLC, when actually whe wasn’t. I guess this caused her to get away for a while and start filming a documentary. As she said,” I made this documentary because I wanted people to get to know me up close and personal.” It really took her into her life and showed us some things. So, thank you Vh1 for showing her documentary.

    Great documentary!!! I have been waiting on this for a while as I heard that it was in the works.
    I have seen the “rock doc” at least twice and found it to be honest and engaging. I feel like as a fan, she can finally rest, knowing this documentary aired for all to see. At the same time, as a fan, I’ll always look forward to any other Lisa Lopes or TLC projects related to Lisa Lopes to come out.
    Btw, does anyone know any info on the Latin guitar music featured throughout the documentary (and as the credits were rolling)?

    I absolutely loved this documentary!!! I watched it three or four times; does anybody know where I could get a copy of it, though?

    Another thing, it really got me interested in numerology! Haha.
    Colleen = 3+6+3+3+5+5+5
    Colleen = 30
    Colleen = 3 + 0
    Colleen = 3

    Lisa appeared to be haunted by a spirit during filming. No one was aware that days leading to her own dimise she hit a kid last name Lopez. I wondered how she felt about this and if she veared off road while having a flashback????. I know she felt bad about death.

I had never even heard of her before to be honest…i cried when it. Her hitting a kid…and her just dying really soon after that. Her belifes in numerology and spirtuality was really inspiring. i loved it.
