Fantastic 4 Leads Movies Surfing to Silver Screen

‘Fantastic Four: Rise of the Surfer’ is the biggest movie hitting theaters this weekend. The movie is getting knocked by some critics for being a bit “cheesy”. The first ‘Fantastic Four’ also was met with some critical backlash but if you take the movie for what it is (mindless summer entertainment) I think you’ll enjoy the film. The movie is directed by Tim Story and is rated PG.
‘Nancy Drew’, the popular 70 year old book franchise, looks to capture the “tween” audience. Starring Julia Roberts niece, Emma Roberts, “Nancy Drew” is a mystery that is meant to be pleasing viewing for the whole family. Unless you have children, judging from the previews, I say avoid the theater at all costs.
‘Eagle Vs Shark’ also makes its way to the theater. The film hails from New Zealand and is a Romantic Comedy. Judging from what I have read this looks like one you may want to check out. The film is rated R.
Lastly is one of those dangerous offerings for a movie lover: A film that did screen for critics. If you follow movies you know that these (although the occasional gem does come out) are to be avoided like the plague. This time it is video game to movie ‘DOA’. If you are looking for me at this action film, you are wasting your time.
