Now Filming- “Starship Troopers: Marauder”
Currently filming in Table Mountain, South Africa is the third movie in the Starship Troopers franchise, Starship Troopers: Marauder. Casper van Dien has been cast again as Johnny Rico, and the movie also stars Tanya van Graan, who was recently named by FHM as the sexiest woman in South Africa.
In the film, Johnny Rico is now a general, and the federal army is bigger than ever before. But this time, they run into a new strain of bug known as a “Scorpion Bug.” The infantry must fight to stop the Scorpion bug from breeding itself on earth.
Tanya plays one of the seven troopers who helps to save the earth, but also adds “I’m not sure exactly where the movie will be shot, but I know that many of the outer-space sequences will be filmed in a studio.”
Also starring in the latest Starship Troopers film is Marnette Patterson, Boris Kodjoe, John Falkow, Stephen Hogan, and Anthony Bishop. The movie was written by Edward Neumeier, who is also directing the film. Neumeier also wrote and directed the first two installments of the series.
Like the second film, Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation, this one is likely to go straight to DVD.

“Neumeier also wrote and directed the first two installments of the series.”
No he did not! Neumeier wrote the first two films but he did not direct either of them. In fact this is his first time in the director’s chair. The first two films were directed by Paul Verhoeven and Phil Tippett (respectably).

I only hope this movie doesnt suck like the second!!!If that happens i kill Edward Neumeier!!!Twice
MAN, I LOVED the first one. the second one bored me a bit. as it was constantly dark, and all maintained at the one destination.
I HOPE…that like the first one, it’s day light and takes place in severel destinations
hopefully it will be better than the second. If its good it should be put out in cinema rather than just dvd. Would be cool if it was made to allow a 4th film also if good etc as starship troopers has so much potentual after the 1st film that was never used due to things like terribly small budgets. ie 1st film $100 mill budget second$7 mill. big difference. Well apparently sence they are filming it in south africa it will be cheaper to make alot of things in it than in other countries they normally would be making films/movies in.
I loved the first one But the second wasnt as good sst 1 :£100M Budget sst 2 : £7m Budget sst 3 : £20m it wil be better than the 2nd But not as good as the first but still lookin forward 2 it
I’ve watched the first one and found it awsome but have only watched the first hour of the second one and i have too say it is alot more layed back that starship troopers one i’d say even the cartoon series had more adrenaline all im hoping for is that in the last 50 mins it will get a lot better and that no.3 will be full of bug ass kicking action like the first and the bugs should look alot better due to todays CGI
I was betting that this was going to be at least as bad as the 2nd one. The first film was good because of the enourmous amount of money spent on special effects, whereas the 2nd movie was TERRIBLE because there was no special effects to speak of, and the acting might as well have been a porn movie. All in all, this monstrosity of a film is something that everyone involved should be ashamed of, its like taking a shite on the bible to us fans when these idiots make the incredibly crappy movies to milk a few bucks. Its been more than 10 years, and still what they make cant reach the first movies pedestal, then maybe they should not bother making it at all, and spare us all the embarrassment. (no, ofcourse not, when there is a easy buck to make for these soul-less bastards).
Starship Troopers 3: Marauder is one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. It may even be worse than Highlander 2. I want my money back *plus* damages for pain and suffering. It’s like an unintentional parody of the first movie. Absolutely AWFUL!
