Isaiah Washington’s career comes back to life

July 17th, 2007 in Actors, Sci-Fi, TV -

I’m not sure which is more amazing, that the old television series “The Bionic Woman” has been revived, or the recently posted news that Isaiah Washington has been hired for a five episode arc. It wasn’t all to long ago that Washington made headlines, first for uttering a slang word that was a cause for offense, then publicly apologizing for his poor choice of words, and finally getting fired from the hit show “Grey’s Anatomy”. Ben Silverman, co-chairman of NBC stated, “Isaiah Washington is a very talented and versatile actor and I’ve always admired his work. “These episodes on ‘Bionic Woman’ and the new development deal will showcase his talents, and we look forward to producing some great television together.” Washington will play one of the scientists who is responsible for turning Jaime Summers into the Bionic Woman. Katherine Pope of Universal Media said, “Great television is all about brilliant actors who can inhabit strong characters. That’s what this role on ‘Bionic Woman’ called for, and Isaiah is the perfect actor to do it.” Between “Grey’s Anatomy” and “The Bionic Woman”, there seems to be a common theme about body parts in Washington’s career at this time. And speaking of body parts, Washington may be well advised to watch his mouth to avoid future trouble.
