“Freddy vs. Jason vs. Michael” Rumors Surface Again

August 27th, 2007 in Classic, Horror, Movie News -

Over the weekend Robert Englund, the actor who played Freddy Kruger in the Elm Street series of horror flicks, attended Collectormania in Glasgow, where he chatted with fans. When asked if there would be any more Freddy films, Englund said that New Line Cinema was in talks with John Carpenter to make a movie called Freddy vs. Jason vs. Michael. He also mentioned that Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash was going to be made, but was ultimately pulled and the ideas from the film will implemented into a comic book coming out this fall.

Englund also claimed that New Line Cinema is in talks with Wes Craven about making a Prequel to A Nightmare on Elm Street, in which Freddy would start out working at the school as the janitor and would end up with him being burnt. He joked that at least in the prequel he wouldn’t have to wear the make up all throughout the movie, and said that a script for the film was already made.

Unfortunately Robert Englund has a habit of running his mouth and talking things up, never to have them see the light of day. This is certainly not the first time we’ve heard about a possible Freddy vs. Jason vs. Michael film, so although this came straight from Englund’s mouth, take it with a big heaping portion of salt.
