Red Tails Finally Gets Writer
Here’s a tip from an entertainment writer – you can always tell trouble when the article you’re reading seems visibly hesitant to reveal what exactly an actor, a director and/or a writer has done to him him or her a part.
That’s how it almost looked for Red Tails, the long-awaited Tuskegee Airman flick produced and financed by none other than George Lucas.
Lucas chose John Ridley for the task of screenwriter, after reading L.A. Riots, which Ridley wrote for Spike Lee, according to Variety.
A further look into IMBD reveals John Ridley also wrote the Internet Series, film story and animated series of Undercover Brother. That’s right, folks – the Undercover Brother guy is writing George Lucas’ next historical epic.
At first, it feels a near-comic George Lucas goof, an almost Dave Chappelle-like twist of “You know black people – want to write about ‘em in World War II?”
Luckily, my pessimism over George Lucas abounded long enough for me to find hope Lucas truly did pick the right man for the job – as I noticed Ridley also had a credit for part two of the Justice League second season finale, Starcrossed.
Filled with superhero angst, starcrossed love and biracial relationships, Starcrossed might be the best screen test a writer can have for Red Tails – other than perhaps the aforementioned L.A. Riots for Spike Lee.
With a solid writer choice on scripts, one question remains – who will direct? Many have held out hope that George Lucas – who is moving away from movies to focus on Star Wars TV projects – would direct this as perhaps his final film for at least the near-future.
There remains no word, but the premise of a WWII air combat flick rendered by Lucasfilm is a sturdy one, made all the more stable with the addition of a capable writer.

Of the George Lucas films that he releases Simply Stated, the Film Red Tails is for sure to be one of his worst ever.
It for sure that it can not ever compare with the Greatness of the STAR WARS Films that should continue in theaters with that of a third EPISODES OF these Great Films EPISODES VII-VIII-IX
The STAR WARS FILMS Being the Best of George Lucas, except for them nothing else he’s directed or produced has been.
