“Midnight Meat Train” Preview & Trailer

On October 8th, 2007

The folks at Lionsgate gave us the heads up on this hot new horror thriller, Midnight Meat Train, which is being directed by critically acclaimed Japanese director Ryuhei Kitamura. Kitamura is making his American directorial debut with this film adaptation of Clive Barker’s popular short story – Midnight Meat Train – from his classic Books of Blood collection.

Starring in Midnight Meat Train are Bradley Cooper (Wedding Crashers), Brooke Shields (Nip/Tuck), Leslie Bib (Talladega Nights), and Vinnie Jones (X-Men: The Last Stand).

The story of the film will follow a New York City photographer who is attempting to track down a serial killer known as the “Subway Butcher.” However, in his quest, he soon discovers more than he bargained for.

Shooting on Midnight Meat Train began in March 2007 in Los Angeles. Originally they had wanted to shoot it in NYC, but because of the prohibitive cost of shooting in NYC, various L.A. locations, including the L.A. Metro subway system, were used.

Lionsgate is the distributor of Midnight Meat Train, which is expected to debut in theaters sometime during 2008. Watch the trailer after the jump!

I hate that they had to shoot it in L.A., but I’ve been excited about this adaptation since first reading it was in development.
