Disney, Burton do 3D

“Nightmare Before Christmas” producer and director David Burton teams up with Disney to direct two 3D pictures,”Alice in Wonderland” and “Frankenweenie.”

I think this two-movie deal is a work of art. “Alice” goes first using combine performance-capture imagery, currently seen in “Beowulf,” with live-action footage.

Burton is finishing up the Paramount and Dreamworks musical “Sweeney Todd.”
“Frankenweenie” comes from Burton’s 1984 short film about a pet dog brought back to life by his loyal owner, which will be shot in stop-motion animation and shown in digital 3D.

Burton worked with Disney before on “Nightmare Before Christmas” and “Ed Wood.”
