Visual Effects Society’s Lifetime Achievement Award for 2008 goes to Steven Spielberg, citing his contributions as director, producer in the field of art and science of visual effects.

Watching Steven Spielberg work with visual effects is daunting because he moves with precision and certainty as he directs actors within the constraints of visual effects.

His work is seemless as Visual Effects Society chair Jeff Okun said pointedly “Steven Spielberg is the first director that comes to mind when you think of amazing visual effects due to his enormous body of creative groundbreaking work.”

Spielberg receives his award February 10, 2008 at the Kodak Theater Grand Ballroom.
