Sci-fi “Champions” is next for “Pan Labyrinth” director Guillermo del Toro who will write, direct and produce the United Artists production.According to Variety, “Champions” is based on the 1968-69 British TV series that follows the adventures of a team of secret government agents who are rescued from a plane crash by an advanced civilization and given superhuman abilities.

It appears to me that United Artists is carrying out their plans to allow filmmakers to have complete creative control with Guillermo producing, writing and directing “Champions.”
