Katherine Heigl Says She Hates “Knocked Up”
Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. “Knocked Up” star Katherine Heigl, aka that girl from “Grey’s Anatomy”, recently revealed in an interview with “Vanity Fair” that she never really got “Knocked Up.”
Heigl says, “It paints women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as lovable, goofy, fun-loving guys. It exaggerated the characters, and I had a hard time with it, on some days. I’m playing such a bitch; why is she being such a killjoy? Why is this how you’re portraying women? Ninety-eight percent of the time it was an amazing experience, but it was hard for me to love the movie.”
In the film, which tackles the issue of pregnancy from a decidedly male perspective, Heigl played a somewhat uptight, straight-laced, ambitious, career-oriented girl. Why she decided to take part in the film despite hating it, and the way it portrayed women is completely beyond me and most others. And coming from a woman who has seen the film, the girl needs to get a sense of humor. I really enjoyed it, and didn’t find it offensive or off-putting in the least.

I absolutely agree with you. I thought the movie was wonderful and it makes me sad, and also, not like her as much, to know that Katherine Heigl feels this way. Knocked Up is one of my favorite movies of all time. As a woman, I wasn’t offended at all.
