‘Adele Blanc-Sec’ Comes to the Screen

adele.jpg“Aventures Extraodinaires d’Adele Blanc-Sec,” Jacques Tardi’s classic comic book series just might be the next movie franchise. Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp inked a deal with Gallic graphic novel publisher Casterman in hopes the series goes to the silver screen. Comic book series was first published in 1976. Nine novels since are set between 1911 and 1922 in Paris distressed by WW I. Adele Blanc-Sec, a popular novelist, is the heroine who is pursued by dumb cops, monsters, rancorous villains and wannabe lovers. A three-picture big screen transition is set to deliver the first one in 2009.
