Did I tell you that I worked on Chris Columbus’ film “9 Months”? Yes. I even had a chance to watch him work a scene with a large group of kids – he’s known for directing kids well – I was impressed with his ability to be patient and capture the right shot with kids.

Columbus directed the first two Harry Potter films, too.

Anyway, Columbus and “Heroes” star Hayden Panettiere are in talks to board the Fox Atomic teen comedy “I Love You Beth Cooper” for a spring start.

Panettiere would play the leading character, an attractive cheerleader who catches the love interest of a nerdy valedictorian’s, which becomes an obsession. Together, they go through series of misadventures after proclaiming his love for her in his graduation speech.

Panettiere plays a cheerleader in the NBC’s “Heroes” and appears in the upcoming Julia Roberts starrer “Fireflies in the Garden.”
