Director Michael Mann signed Marion Cotillard (“La Vie en rose”) to play Billie Frechette, John Dillinger’s lover in Mann’s “Public Enemies.” Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, Channing Tatum and Giovanni Ribisi also star in the drepression-era crime drama. The film goes before the lens March 10 in Chicago.

Tatum plays outlaw Pretty Boy Floyd, and Ribisi plays Alvin Karpis. 

Bale plays Melvin Purvis, who was tapped by FBI chief J. Edgar Hoover to lead a manhunt that established the FBI as the country’s first federal police force after the G-Men killed Dillinger (Depp) outside the Biograph Theater in 1934.
