More on the Oscars
“No Country for Old Men” and “There Will Be Blood” garnered the most nominations for the 80th Annual Academy Awards.
“Atonement,” “Juno” and “Michael Clayton” were the other films nominated for best picture of the year.
Overall, the top nominated film wins the Oscar for best picture, but for the last three years the winners, “Million Dollar Baby,” “Crash” and “The Departed,” were not the top nominated films and were surprise winners, except for “Departed.”
I would like to see the “Atonement” win because it is a traditional film and perhaps amid strikes and negotiations, we should go back to our traditions.
I highly recommend going to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to take a look at the complete list of nominations.
