Oscar Hopefuls Set for DVD Release
What does films “Michael Clayton,” “In the Valley of Elah,” “Into the Wild,” “Gone Baby Gone, “Elizabeth: The Golden Age,” “Across the Universe” and “Lust, Caution” all have in common?
They will be on the DVD shelves before the Oscars telecast, February 24, 2008, in hopes of making a huge amount of sales based on the promotion of being nominated.
“The Departed” and “Walk the Line” last year garnered big bucks because of this suave, promotional move.
One week before the Oscars: “Michael Clayton” and “In the Valley of Elah,” both from Warners, and “Lust, Caution” go on the streets.
“Into the Wild” and “Gone Baby Gone” hit the streets on Feb. 12, with “Across the Universe” and “Elizabeth: The Golden Age” taking the shelves on Feb. 5.
Couple of films already sit on the shelves: “Hairspray,” “Eastern Promises” and “Away From Her.”
