Sundance Favs Playing Throughout January

200px-sundance-film-festival.jpgI just found out about this wonderful program for all you cable subscribers: “31 Days of Sundance” will feature a daily double bill of one feature and one short from past Sundance Film Festivals each night at 9:00 p.m. from January 1 to 31, 2008.

I will be posting each day the feature film and short for that night. I am starting today!

Please view these film if you have cable. And any feedback is awesome and much appreciated. Sundance Film Festival gave the specialty films or art house films a big burst of popularity when the festival originally started in 1981. So, let’s support this endeavor by taking a view of these Sundance favorites.

Wednesday, January 9

9:00 p.m. “In Between Days” directed by So Yong Kim

A coming-of-age story about Aimie (Jiseon Kim), a teenaged Korean immigrant, who falls in love with Tran (Taegu Andy Kang) – her best and only friend. Their relationship falls in the balances as they both struggle to assimilate to life in America and Tran becomes involved with an Americanized Korean girl. Appeared at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival.

“The School” directed by Jonathan Hayes

Adapted from a comic short story by Donald Barthelme in which a grade school teacher (Russell Bennett) struggles to teach the meaning of life — and death — to his curious class. Appeared at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival. Runtime 07:57.
