Douglas Grabs Yet Another Role

February 6th, 2008 in Actors, Classic, Movie News, Remakes, The Movie Biz -

douglas_michael.jpgbeyond.jpgOnce again an announcement today about Michael Douglas has grab yet another role. This one he stars with Amber Tamblyn and Jesse Metcalfe in present-day remake of 1956 RKO classic “Beyond a Reasonable Doubt.”

Story centers on a journalist investigating a corrupt district attorney and setting himself up as a murder suspect, only for the DA to uncover the plot and incriminate the scribe.

I really hate to see a remake of Fritz Lang’s classic because classics should remain classics. If only they’d change the title and not let the audience know about the remake. Although I have respect for filmmakers, today, I am sure the remake will not give justice to Lang’s original film.

Michael Douglas must have have had a real itch to work with director Peter Hyams again. Considering that their previous film together, “The Star Chamber”, is hardly remembered, and that Hyams’ last film, “The Sound of Thunder” was a big bust financially and critically, you have to wonder.

Good point Peter. You do have to wonder. Frankly, I hope Douglas has a success soon. He’s due for one. But a remake…I’m not to keen on.

Yes. He does. His father Kurt Douglas looked good at the same age too. I am not quite sure how old Michael is, but I am guessing 60′s.
