Many actresses have played Maid Marion of Nottingham, Audrey Hepburn and Olivia de Havilland to name two. Perhaps you can think of a few.

Many versions of Robin Hood have been on the silver screen since the advent of film from the silent era to the talkies and animation.

Now a new version of Robin Hood will go into production called “Nottingham.”  “Nottingham” stars Russell Crowe with Sienna Miller (“Stardust”) taking on the role of Maid Marion.

Crowe plays Sheriff of Nottingham as a noble and brave lawman who struggles with a corrupt king and engages in a love triangle with Marion and Robin Hood.

As a perk to the production, Ridley Scott will direct with a release date set for November 2009.
