A unique man, Hunter S. Thompson, to say the least, as Johnny Depp narrates Oscar-winning director Alex Gibney’s probing look at the uncanny life of Thompson as a journalist.

The documentary touches on major highlights in Thompson’s wild career with the Hell’s Angels, McGovern 72 Presidential campaign and near successful bid for mayor of Aspen.

“Gonzo: The Life and Times of Hunter S. Thompson” opens July 4th in theaters.
