‘Tourist’ for Clooney

George Clooney is attached to “The Tourist,” a movie based on Olen Steinhauer novel.
Clooney is also producing the film with Smokehouse’s Grant Heslov and Nina Wolarsky.
“The Tourist” is a modern international thriller focusing on a spy who risks everything to uncover a conspiracy when he’s accused of a murder he didn’t commit.
Hmm…sounds like typical George Clooney fare these days. Does he ever star in anything that he DOESN’T produce these days?
I was thinking the same thing. When I read the notice, I thought of “Michael Clayton.”
Producing your own film is typical these days. After hitting it big, studios give you your own shingle on their lot to keep you there to make movies for them.
