John Madden is set to direct The Debt, a Nazi-hunter thriller, reports The Hollywood Reporter. The film, a remake of the 2007 Israeli film HaHov, follows a trio of 1960s Israeli intelligence agents who pursue a Nazi war criminal only to have him escape and reemerge 30 years later.

Madden, known for handling Shakespeare in Love and Proof, will work on an adaptation by Matthew Vaughn who will also produce. The film currently has no projected release date.
