The Shining Recreated

July 5th, 2008 in Horror, TV -

The_shining_heres_johnny Channel 4 has painstakingly recreated the set of Stanley Kubrick’s horror film The Shining, filling it with lookalikes of the crew and cast members for a TV ad to promote their upcoming Kubrick marathon run on July 15.

The 65-second video features a one-take tracking shot through the recreation of the film’s set, offering Kubrick’s point of view as he walks through the set, ending with the director’s chair as the crew prepare to shoot a scene.

The promo was apparently researched to “remain as faithful as possible to the period in which it was shot and the culture of the British studio in the late 1970s.” The clip will run through to the beginning of the More 4 season starting July 15.
