A release date for Whiteout, a slasher film set in the South Pole, has finally been given: the film adaptation of Greg Rucka’s graphic novel will be out April 24, 2009.

Directed by Dominic Sena and starring Kate Beckinsale, Gabriel Macht, Tom Skerritt, Columbus Short and Alex O’Louglin, the movie tells the story of a US Marshall Carrie Stetko who must solve a murder mystery in the South Pole before the darkness of winter begins.
