Cass Warner — Warner Bros. Documentary

On August 12th, 2008

I meet Cass Warner several times in Hollywood and in Florida.  She’s a warm and endearing person. She always wished me success in my projects, very encouraging.  A beautiful lady, gorgeous, very caring in so many ways – comes through in spirit.

Listen to her radio interview with Icons Radio Hour.

The family documentary – THE BROTHERS WARNER – that was written and directed by Cass is now completed! Go to her website to get on the mailing list and she will update you with all the news!

THE BROTHERS WARNER narrated by family member, Cass Warner, an intimate portrait and epic saga of the four film pioneers who founded and ran Warner Bros. for over 50 years. This is the inside story of the little known major player, Harry Warner; and honest Abe, visionary Sam, and volatile Jack–the original Hollywood independent filmmakers. This close-knit band of brothers was the first to use mass media to educate, entertain, and enlighten .

Their legendary scrappy rise from nothing, their overcoming of personal tragedies, and their battles are all woven together using rare archival footage, family photos, and documents.  From opening their first storefront theater by hanging a sheet on the wall and borrowing chairs from a funeral parlor to creating one of the top studios in America–four brothers built an empire on a dream and revolutionized Hollywood.

I just saw this on television. It was a very well made, endearing documentary. Though i can’t believe one of the brothers went through with a certain business deal. That’s probably what broke them up. I regret so deeply that I missed fifteen minutes. Anybody know where i can buy this dvd? thank you!!

I did an interview with Cass Warner that I need to put together for people to read. But the DVD is on the streets today. You can pick it up at Amazon or Warner Bros.

It’s a great documentary, beautifully done, based on Cass Warner’s book she wrote in 1990. A feature movie is in development. Interesting relations all the brothers had with each other.
