‘Elephants’ Fast Tracking

On September 10th, 2008

My mom brought my attention to the book, “Water for Elephants, ” an historical love story by Sara Gruen.  She spoke of the story that covers a lifetime, which she was familiar and I sensed nostalgia and similarities to share.

“Water for Elephants” spent 12 weeks on the New York Times best-seller list in 2008.

The story centers on a 90 year old man reminiscing about his life — set during the Depression. He finds work at a B-Level circus taking care of animals. Witnessing brutality of circus life and falling for the wife of an abuser of animal trainer.

Elephants is fast tracking with Francis Lawerence set to direct.

I look forward to seeing this film and hope the production company and director gives it justice due.

Let me know how you liked it; I gather from what my mom told me that the story is very well written and page turner.
