Mass Effect Film Rights Optioned

mass-effect-643 Moving his attention away from comic books, Marvel Studios ex-CEO Avi Arad has optioned the film rights to Mass Effect, the popular action-RPG game from BioWare.

Available on PC and Xbox 360, the game is set in the year 2183, having players assume control of an elite human soldier named Commander Shepherd who has set out to explore the galaxy.

Arad is the man behind the excellent Spider-Man and X-Men film adaptations; he is also responsible for turning Marvel’s fate around.

No word on the release date, or other details, were given.
