Dorothy’s Life to be Made into a Film
Variety reports that Davis Entertainment has optioned Paul Alexander’s expose Good Night, Dorothy Kilgallen, the famous syndicated columnist.
Kilgallen covered subjects ranging from Hollywood to Sam Sheppard’s murder trial during her run. She became obsessed with proving a conspiracy after the death of President John F. Kennedy, whom she considered a friend.
She then landed the only interview with Jack Ruby, the killer of assassin Lee Harvey Oswald, for her book called “Murder One”. Alexander wrote in his book that the columnist died mysteriously after turning in her book, with the chapters on JFK missing.
Screenwriter Shane Salerno is adapting a fictionalized conspiracy film by Alexander. Fox is likely to distribute.
