MGM Turning Ronin, Woman into TV Shows

On October 15th, 2008

mgm-logo MGM appears to be monetizing a couple of dormant movie franchises by turning them into television shows.

The company has reportedly greenlit two series based on Robert De Niro’s 1998 crime film Ronin and the romance film The French Lieutenant’s Woman.

Ronin will be reconfigured as a series and will likely be shot in Europe with an American lead. Meanwhile, Woman will be made into a four hour miniseries based on material from the John Fowles novel that didn’t make it into the film.

No production date was given for these projects.
