Serial Killer Fans Rejoice; Showtime Extends ‘Dexter’ Two More Seasons
October 21st, 2008 in TV -
Fans of America’s favorite Serial Killer will be grinning ear to ear today. ‘Dexter, the number one rated drama series on Showtime, has been extended 2 more seasons. Season Four and Five are both slated to run 12 episodes and production of the show starring Michael Hall will begin in April.
Personally, as a big fan of the show I’m thrilled that we will get two more seasons of the show. I hope that the writers can keep the material fresh. I was a bit worried when Dexter’s main nemisis was written off last year but they did a great job of adding a new twist this year. Long live ‘Dexter’!

I heartily agree – with one small caveat. Dexter, this season so far is not a patch on the previous two. I don’t know whether they struggled during the writers strike or what, but the story line is wooden, the portrayal of his sister has become horribly formulaic from was an incredibly complex character. I looked forward to Dexter’s return so much, and now I am seriously wondering if I would watch more based on this current run. I guess it does not help that I personally don’t have any love for Jimmy Smits as an actor.
