From Variety comes word that ABC is developing a new adaptation of the classic ‘80s sci-fi miniseries V.

The ‘80s show had human-like aliens visiting earth with an army of spaceships hovering above the planet’s major cities. However the aliens are actually reptilian underneath, and despite saying they’re here to help, their motives are nefarious.

The new show will focus on Erica Evans, a Homeland Security agent who’s got problems. Her son connects very well with the aliens when they arrive, causing tension within the family. However, several storylines will unfold simultaneously within the show.
