America Ferrera and Melissa Leo are set to star in American Tragic, a post-Iraq War drama from Latino film producer Maya Entertainment.

Ferrera will also exec produce writer-director Ryan Piers Williams’ story about  a young soldier (Ryan O’Nan) who has trouble settling in when he comes back to his small hometown. He walks out on his wife, mother and sister (Ferrera, Leo and June Diane Raphael) to travel the country in search of redemption.

Filming is set to start next year in February in New Mexico.
