Funny man Steve Carell will be back again on the big screen to voice the title character in upcoming 3D CG-animated feature Despicable Me.

His character will be a deplorable man known as Groo who plots about stealing the moon. He is egged on by his evil mother, however, one obstacle stands in his way: three orphan girls who temporarily come under his care and won’t leave.

Julie Andrews, Jason Segel, Russell Brand, Jack McBrayer and many others have joined the cast.

The script has been penned by Horton Hears a Who scribes Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio. It is being primed for release in 2010.
