December 4th, 2008 in Actors, Movie News, Remakes, Uncategorized -

“…caught between the moon and New York City.”

The British comedian, Russell Brand, is taking on the development of the remake of Arthur, a wonderful 1981 comedy that starred Dudley Moore, John Gielund and Liza Minnelli.

Brand hopes for the possiblity of starring in the remake.

According to Hollywood Reporter, the original movie followed a boozy playboy rogue (Moore) who is set to inherit a fortune if he marries an heiress his family thinks will make something out of him. However, he falls in love with a working-class woman (Minnelli) and turns to his valet (Gielgud) for help when his family makes him choose between money and love.

Moore was nominated for an Oscar as was Steve Gordon, the film’s writer-director. Gielgud won the best supporting actor Oscar, and the movie’s theme song, “The Best That You Can Do,” won for original song.

Hollywood is going cold turkey on pork. Tinseltown is even importing sleaze from the United Kingdom. Russel Brand does Brand Hollywood no favours. He is famous in the United Kingdom for his bizarre and anti social behaviour. He harrassed and abused an old gentleman. There was public outcry in the media at the time. He advocates promiscuity and pervertion. America, let this man entertain your children. The million dollar question is, how did he meet the requirements for his green card. Horny David Letterman is in a position to validate this Big Bang Theory. The shit hits the fan. Disaster strikes on the casting couch. It is comedy of outrageous proportions. Give it a go.
