Chipmunks Sequel Set, No Word on Lee
Fox 2000 and Regency nabbed Betty Thomas to direct Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel, the follow-up to the taken by surprise 2007 hit that featured adorable CGI-animated singing rodents. A new twist is coming to the movie, Chipettes, Chipmunk’s female variety.
It looks like the voices of the Chipmunks, Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler and Jesse McCartney, are coming back, respectively, to voice the parts of troublemaker Alvin, intellectual Simon and chubby Theodore. No word if Jason Lee is coming back, although I think he is a key role in the success of the first installment. The casting of the Chipettes is under way.
As a little bit of information about the first installment of Alvin, the movie grossed more than $360 million worldwide.
Screenhead, currently, is running a giveaway of Alvin and the Chipmunks most recent CD called Undeniable. Click here to enter the giveaway.
