Reuters reports that ABC has ordered a TV pilot based on the DC Comics property Fables. Created by Bill Willingham, the series revolves around characters from fairy tales and folklore being forced to live in exile in a hidden community in modern-day New York.

The show is being developed by Stu Zicherman and Raven Metzner. No details were given of the upcoming TV series, but the duo noted that Big Bad Wolf and Snow White, characters who are central to the comics, will have important roles in the show.

"We set up a structure to allow any fairy tale character to show up in any one episode" said Metzner. Look forward to seeing it later next year.
