Golden Globe Nominations

The Golden Globe Awards nominations from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association were announced this week.  Most the trades and new service have reported that the campaign is between Frost/Nixon and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button with each honored with five nominations for picture, director, actor, screenplay and score.

Doubt was honored with five nominations, recognizing the acting talents of Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Amy Adams and Viola Davis while rounding out with a screenplay nomination.  

The Reader, Revolutionary Road and Slumdog Millionaire earned four nominations each.

Both Meryl Streep and Kate Winslet received two nominations each, Streep for Doubt and Mamma Mia! and Winslet for The Reader and Revolutionary Road

The comedy-musical category takes an interesting and fun turn with Mamma Mia!, Burn After Reading, Happy-Go-Lucky, In Bruges and Vicky Cristina Barcelona. The Woody Allen film drew four nominations, In Bruges took three, and the others were honored two apiece.
