NOSTRADAMUS: 2012 on HISTORY

On December 20th, 2008

Here’s a show to watch over the last of the winter break.

In 2012, a rare and possibly Earth-shattering astrological alignment is due to occur that will precipitate a cataclysmic event. Whatever is in store — a massive cosmic collision, a global environmental disaster, an Armageddon-like religious showdown, or a more subtle transformation — there have been multiple predictions from different times and cultures that December 21, 2012 will mark a major shift in the history of our planet.

NOSTRADAMUS: 2012 takes a detailed investigation of this chilling prophecy. This explosive two-hour sequel picks up where The Lost Book of Nostradamus left off. NOSTRADAMUS: 2012 seeks answers to key critical questions that may loom in just four years: Is there any modern scientific proof that such an alignment will indeed happen? Is any other compelling evidence throughout history that 2012 will be a year of unprecedented, even deadly, upheaval?

There is no disputing that we are a planet in crisis, and that there is a growing public obsession with 2012.  But there is no cogent distinction between the sobering facts and hysterical fiction. What, if any, is the scientific ballast that substantiates the fears? NOSTRADAMUS: 2012 will look for the parallels between the nightmarish daily headlines and the 2012 prophecies from Nostradamus and others.

From the mystical realms of the Guatemalan jungles to the high-tech corridors of NASA; from the Hopi elders and Mayan shaman to the most respected thinkers of the modern age; from the symbology of the ancient pyramids in Mexico and Egypt to that of the gothic cathedrals and monuments of Europe — the 2012 doomsday warning will be cast in a frighteningly modern context.  December 21, 2012 is bearing down on us with alarming speed – and whether or not we are able to collectively heed the warnings and affect a course to avert disaster may be the defining moment of the modern age.

If the world’s prediction in 2012 comes true, what can we do now to prepare for such a collision? Based on what we know and what we suspect is likely to be true, how sure are we really about anything. So much information is withheld from the general population that when predictions are made, most people disregard any evidence of truth. What say you?

Christians believe that any end will come like a thief in the night. We cannot know nor predict the exact moment. However, if people- because of their need to feel in control — want that date to have apocalyptic meaning – then it will.

Maybe our true maker (the Universe and everything in and possibly around it) is testing our faith in wether or not we buy into the religious bullshit. Christians are obviously insane but its not there fault. Christianity is proven to control people and the way it use to be is that if you didnt worship someones god than you worshipped the devil. This is the sad truth about our past and over 2 thousand years of having to choose between social acceptance and the truth we can finally speak our minds without consequences. The only way to get even remotely close to the truth is to except the fact that we are a type of forever evolving beings. Nostradamus is no bullshitter!

The popular 2012 prophecy is built around the end” of the Mayan calendar, but what the crazies don’t understand is that, like the shorter ‘step’ clocks the Mayans used, when it ends it resets to the beginning and starts all over again. As for the planetary alignment theory (where our solar system is in the same plain as the Milky Way galaxy, etc.) even if there is an extended alignment of planets, they are so vastly far apart that even the combined gravitational pull will have no effect. Something tells me that 2012 will come and go like the millenium. We really should be more worried about the here and now, the religious fundamentalists, the environmental terrorists, the pollution and depletion of natural resources, etc.

While some of the comments here regard religion as bullshit, it is
very possible that the predictions of Notradamas, the Mayans and others will come to pass.
Instead of mocking God, let’s call it by another name. Nature might
be acceptable to the great mouth pieces that make jokes about any person who believes in a power greater than ouselves.
So let’s call the predictions a serious possiblility based on nature. I
believe that we are due for a disaster. One has only to look at the social order to belive that something is going to happen to cleanses
the mess that has been building for centuries.
A good subtitle might fall more believably on the ears of Glibalx if
we call it the Rebellion of Nature.
We very well may be the next lost civilization. It would not be the first and certainly will not be the last. I hope. Surely a new world order would emerge.

i think you all should just calm down. if you were meant to die you are going to die on that day. everyone dies when they are ready and supposed to go. its what life is meant to be like. if you believe in god or not. life is meant to be played the way it was started. we can’t change what is supposed to happen. deal with it don’t incourage it. make the best out of life while you can. but still look for answers stating whether or not it will happen because its fun. :) )))))))))))

a lot of Nostradamus’ predictions have already come true. do we need another prediction coming true before we start caring for each other and our pLanet? 2012, 2013 or whenever this “end” will come to us, let’s just do whatever we can do today to save each other,to save our planet, and most of all, to save our souls.

    just my thoughts.

Wow I definitely believe in something greater than myself and no man is greater than any other. U know what skip all the crap I believe in GOD and no one knows when the end will come so stop stressing over things we know nothing of and just try to live our lives right and to the fullest. GOD bless!
