Cirque du Freak is an interesting line of books to say the least, and Universal’s film adaptation of it drops in next year. With that in mind, Crave Online spoke to Ray Stevenson, who appears in newly released Punisher: War Zone as the titular character himself, about the film. Stevenson drops guns and dons fangs in the film as “Murlough… and he’s a vampinese so he’s again on the dark side of the vampires.”

“Paul said earlier on, I don’t want any Transylvania, I don’t want any references to others,” he said. “This is a completely new take. Staying as true as much to Darren Shan’s books. So we have a lot of fun with it.”

The film hits theatres next year and tells the story of a teenager who gets turned into a vampire and travels with a freak show.
