From Earth Times comes word that Nicolas Cage is being tipped to play assassinated Egyptian president Muhammad Anwar al Sadat.

The mini-series has been penned by Saddam Was Not Executed author Anis al-Degheidy for Egyptian television. It is being filmed in English and dubbed in Arabic.

The assassinated president served his country from 1970-1981, deviating from the economic and political principles of his predecessor Gamal Abdel Nasser by opening up private investment in Egypt and reinstituting the multiparty political system.

The project will be helmed by Lebanese director Youssef Sharaf and will begin filming later this year.
