Slashfilm reports that Rob Cohen is attached to direct The Sea Artist, a film about modern day pirates.

No story details are known at the moment, but the film comes at a time when heightened awareness of modern day piracy has hit a peak. There are few films that deal with the subject matter, too.

The script has been penned by Tony Puryear, a comic book artist and music video director.
