The latest casting gossip for the upcoming Twilight sequel comes courtesy of E! Online who reports that Dakota Fanning is in talks to play the vampire Jane in New Moon.

In the novels, Jane is a member of the Volturi an Italian vampire coven treated like royalty. They act as enforcers to ensure the existence of vampires isnt exposed to humanity. Janes special ability is the power to create illusions of pain.

The sequel is currently in preproduction, with director Chris Weitz hoping to start filming at the end of March.
