Former Dr. Who cast member turned writer/director Noel Clarke has joined the cast of medieval pic Centurion for Pathe International.

The film will tell the story of Quintus Dias, sole survivor of a Pictish raid on a Roman frontier frot, who marches North with general Viriulus’ infamous Ninth Legion under orders to wipe the PIcs from the face of the earth. It is set during the Roman invasion of Britain in 117 AD.

It is being directed by Neil Marshall (The Descent) and will start filming by the end of this month in Scotland and London.
