Selena Gomez and Joey King have signed on to play sisters in Beezus and Ramona for Fox 2000 Pictures and Walden Media.

Based on the Ramona book series by Beverly Cleary, the film will focus on the antics of Romana Geraldine Quimby played by King and her elder sister Beezus, who will be played by Gomez.

The screenplay has been written by Laurie Craig and Nick Pustay; Elizabeth Allen is attached to direct. It is set to hit cinemas on March 19, 2010.
