The trades are reporting that Summit Entertainment has acquired worldwide rights to action comedy Next Day Air, which was set up at Paramount.

Already completed and financed by Melee Entertainment and Paramount, the film stars Mos Def, Mike Epps, Donald Faison, Wood Harris, centering on an illicit package that ends up at the wrong apartment, setting off a set of comedic chain reactions. The companies opted not to release the film, focusing more on their tent pole features.

Helmed by music video director Benny Bloom, Summit plans on releasing the film domestically on May 8.
