The Bloody Door Review–More Fun Than Horror Should Be
We all know that YouTube is a great place to go if you want to watch idiots bash themselves in the junk or try to jump things in shopping carts or just try to remove themselves from the gene pool via one method or another, but what you may not be aware of is that YouTube is also an excellent place to find short films. Especially short HORROR films. So next time you’re looking for a quick jolt of scary, you don’t want to leave the house and you’ve just dropped off your last Netflix run at the post office, turn to YouTube.
For instance, you can take a look at today’s highlight of choice, The Bloody Door, from Drexel Box Films.
This time around, a viral video kills people in the most unlikely fashion. And as word gets around about The Bloody Door, a video that’s killing everyone who watches it–instantly–it’s only kind of surprising that thousands of other people start watching it too. And dying. And if you think that’s creepy, wait until you catch the twist ending.
Okay, so maybe this one didn’t turn out to be the new vanguard of horror filmmaking so much as it turned out to be a horror comedy about how many YouTube users will click on a link and watch just about any video ever, even one that’s rumored to kill people who watch it on contact. Even I was tempted to go look and see if there really was a “The Bloody Door” channel on YouTube. But I did NOT go looking. No sir, I’m not going to get killed by an insane YouTube video. Not me.
All kidding aside, The Bloody Door isn’t exactly all that scary, but it IS funny, and that counts for plenty. In fact, it’ll be a lot funnier than many theatrical release comedies. So some time when you’re hurting for a quick video, try your luck on YouTube.
