From Variety comes word that Garry Marshall of The Princess Diaries fame is set to direct Valentine’s Day, an upcoming comedy from New Line Cinema.

The film will focus on ten people in Los Angeles whose lives intersect on the romance celebration day.

Its script was originally written by Katherine Fugate and has been rewritten by Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein. Mike Karz and Wayne Rice are onboard to produce.

The film is being fast-tracked for release on Valentine’s Day 2010.
